PM Finally Attracts Money, But Key Still Raging $1.16 Fav!
* Embattled NZ Prime Minister Helen Clark is continuing to mount a fightback on Centrebet's head-to-head book, firming
into $4.75 after several thousand dollars was wagered in the last 48 hours, but she's still a long way behind heavily
backed Opposition National leader John Key ($1.16)!
"Ms Clark keeps saying she's in the fight according to the latest polls, but you still get the feeling it's only
speculative punters who believe she was over the odds at $5.00," Evans said. "We took $2,500.00 from an Auckland punter,
$2,000.00 and $1,500.00 both from Wellington and a string of other bets from $250.00 up to $1,200.00 from around the
country, and even plenty from Australia's eastern states, but the big smart money is still all with the Nationals!"
Around $200,000.00 has been bet on the NZ election on November 8, with Key firming from an opening price of $1.47 eight
months ago in to $1.16. The PM opened at $2.65 on Centrebet!

CENTREBET NORWEGIAN PUNTER HAS $50,000.00 ON OBAMA AT $1.07!
* Big-time professional election punters with leading bookmaker Centrebet have declared Republican presidential
candidate John McCain "dead in the water" in the race for the White House, continuing to plunder Democratic hopeful
Barack Obama despite a very short price, with one Norwegian punter tonight wagering the equivalent of $50,000.00 at just
$1.07!
With Centrebet's head-to-head US presidential book pushing towards $900,000.00, Obama has taken 90 per cent of the last
$180,000.00 invested, and remains a raging $1.07 favourite, with McCain out to an almost embarrassing $8.00!
Centrebet media chief and political analyst Neil Evans said big punters are not deterred by the very skinny odds for
Obama. "It's almost like the price now is inconsequential," he said. "They have just about declared Obama is on his way
to becoming the 44th president of the USA, especially after the glowing endorsement from former Republican Secretary of
State Colin Powell.
"After all the ground that had slipped away in the pivotal States, the Powell revelation was just about the last straw.
All the betting moves in the key States around the US are all going the Democrats' way, so everything is starting to
line up for a change of party in Washington on November 4!"
Evans said a Sydney punter had also wagered $10,000.00 on Obama at $1.07, while against that, money for McCain was only
coming in at slow intervals from $100.00 to $1,000.00, simply because he is a very big price!
"Remarkably, just several weeks ago, the Republicans forced their way right into $2.12 when the McCain-Sarah Palin
momentum was in full swing," Evans said. "But as the cold realisation draws nearer that this will be a pure financial
and economic election - given the precarious state of the country's lending and credit rating - McCain has been wiped
for good by punters! Smart players are picking holes in the Republicans' bid to win key States like Florida - and it now
seems McCain has run out of time!"
