Progressive's going Backwards
Yesterday the Progressives released their drug and alcohol policy.
This is the Policy that was heralded last week with the heading “ Early Intervention to reduce crime”, and which Sensible Sentencing Spokesperson on Drug Issues was eagerly awaiting because we were told it would include a package covering drug and alcohol abuse.
However after reading it several times, Ms Davey cannot find any reference to DRUGS in the Progressive's DRUG and Alcohol Policy.
She says “We know that Mr Anderton thinks that alcohol is the most serious substance being abused in NZ, but if you're going to have an Alcohol and DRUG Policy, shouldn't it contain some Policy about DRUGS?
Otherwise, wouldn't you just call it an Alcohol Policy?
What's the deal Mr Anderton? Is this the next step in Harm Minimisation – don't mention it and it might go away?
Voters need to know your stance on illicit drugs.
If the Progressives choose to ignore the fact that NZ has a Drug problem, then they are taking the health and safety of our nation Backwards.
