Department investigates incident involving sideshow ride
The Department of Labour confirmed it is investigating an incident involving a sideshow ride at the Gisborne A Show today. An inspector is visiting the site.
The Department's role is to investigate fatalities or serious injuries that occur in workplaces. The Department also has a role in registering amusement devices.
The Department will be working closely with other agencies including emergency services to carry out its investigation. The Department will not be making further comment until such time as it has carried out a preliminary assessment as part of its investigation.
