Answer the Question Mr Key
Maori voters want John Key to answer a straight question with a straight answer.
“Will National entrench the Maori electorate seats? Yes, or no?” says Labour Candidate for Te Tai Tokerau, Kelvin Davis.
“How can the man be trusted when he says one thing to Pita Sharples' face, and another behind his back.
The next question needs to be asked of Pita Sharples, 'How can the Maori Party trust anything the National Party says in
coalition talks? Is a vote for the Maori Party in reality just a lazy vote for National?'
Dr Sharples claimed again today that he got an assurance in person from Mr Key that the Maori electorate seats would
stay. But as soon as Pita's back was turned, John Key said the opposite.
Polls show that Maori voters are adamant they don't want a National led government and it's easy to see why: John Key is
slippery and we can't trust him.”
“The Labour Government's policy has always been that the Maori seats will remain as long as Maori want them to. Why does
Key have to be slippery about his policy positions? I think he just doesn't know what he believes in.”
“He'll learn one day that Maori respect someone who will look us in the eye, says what he thinks and stands by it. We
can spot a fraud from a mile away.”
