A 19 year old man was seriously injured in an unprovoked attack in the early hours of Sunday morning in Central Christchurch.
Detective Sergeant John Gallagher says that the young man was outside Rydges Hotel on Oxford Terrace about 3.15am when he was attacked by a group of three or four males in their late teens - early twenties.
"He has severe injuries to his face from a bottle used," says DS Gallagher. "We know there were people in the area at the time and I'd appeal to any witnesses to the attack or anyone who has information to contact me please."
It is believed that the persons in the attached photographs may have been present at the time of the attack and should be able to assist Police further with the enquiry.
