Farmers Aghast At Taskforce Abandonment
The chairman of Federated Farmers Meat & Fibre Section, Bruce Wills says farmers are aghast at the announced disbandment of the Meat Industry Taskforce today.
He says meat and fibre producers, currently struggling to make ends meet, were keenly awaiting the outcome of the industry strategy assignment the taskforce had initiated.
“Farmers were convinced this process would come up with the key analysis and ideas necessary to take the ailing industry forward.
“Federated Farmers Meat & Fibre refuses to give up and is adamant that industry discussions continue.
“Members can be assured I will be talking to other industry players so the restructuring, desperately needed by the sector, continues,” he said.
