Family Party endorses George Ngatai for Otara by-election
10 June 08. Family Party leader Richard Lewis has strongly endorsed the nomination of George Ngatai for the Otara by-election.
Richard Lewis, leader of the Family Party and former South Auckland police sergeant, says Mr Ngatai is the obvious replacement for the seat vacated by former councillor, William Sio.
"I believe George Ngatai will stand head and shoulders above any other individual contesting the Otara by-election because not only is he highly qualified and experienced in matters of local governance, but he is a man who has the genuine interests of Otara families at heart," says Mr Lewis.
"We're really excited about getting behind George in this endeavour and believe it is a great opportunity for genuine representation of Otara families," he added.
