Pulse Supports Fight To Eliminate Domestic Violence
Women’s Refuge is delighted the Suzuki Pulse Netball Team is taking a lead in the fight to eliminate domestic violence.
The Pulse is joining force with Women’s Refuge and the Taskforce for Action on Family Violence’s “It’s NOT OK” Campaign.
The team fully supports women and children being able to live free from violence and will be promoting that message to
followers of the game.
The Chief Executive of the National Collective of Independent Women’s Refuges, Heather Henare, says the involvement of
such a strong group of young role models is extremely encouraging.
“I really want to congratulate both the Pulse players and the management for showing their commitment and realising they
can play an active role in raising awareness about domestic violence and what can be done about it.”
“They’re demonstrating the kind of fair play everyone should see on the court, and that it shouldn’t just stop there
either.”
“Whether it’s on our streets, netball courts or in our homes, there is absolutely no place or excuse for violence.”
The relationship between the Pulse, Women’s Refuge and the “It’s Not OK” Campaign is being launched at tonight’s match
between the Pulse and the Mystics in Wellington.
