Review Of Pacific Division To Be Wide-Ranging
The Department of Labour is undertaking a wide-ranging and comprehensive review of the Pacific Division within the Work Force group.
Chief Executive, Christopher Blake, says there have been serious allegations levelled against the Department and the Pacific Division regarding the processing of Pacific applications.
"I have been made aware of these allegations since becoming Chief Executive in late October last year. The allegations are of concern to me, and I am determined to deal with them thoroughly.
"In February I decided to do a major review of the Pacific Division. It is designed to deal with fundamental issues around the organisation and management of this important operation.
"On 17 April I announced this review to staff. This week I appointed an external reviewer to start work on fully scoping the review. The terms of reference can be viewed on the Department's website.
"I want this review to be completed as quickly as possible, but I also want it to be thorough," Mr Blake said.
"I also want to acknowledge that the vast majority of staff in the Department, and within Pacific Division, are doing an excellent and important job. This is about helping them do their job better."
