Earlier today Christchurch Police arrested a 71 year old man and charged him with the murder of Nola Doreen Billesdon. Ms Billesdon died on 18 February 2001 at her home in Somerfield. She was 77 when she died.

"It is possible that the man arrested has spoken to friends, family or acquaintances about how Ms Billesdon died. We are very keen to speak to those people", said Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Wormald who is heading the murder investigation. "Anyone with information can contact the investigation team at Christchurch Central Police Station on 3637400".
