"We are obviously very concerned about Marie's safety and wellbeing" says Detective Senior Sergeant Virgina Le Bas. It has been over a week since anyone has had any contact with Marie Davis, aged 15 years.
The Police investigation is following all lines of enquiry.
Last weekend, the weekend of Marie's disappearance, saw a number of disorder and noise disturbances in the Waimakariri River area being reported to the Police. A search is being made of this area.
The search is being conducted by Land Search and Rescue volunteers coordinated by the Police. This team consists of approximately 28 people, all of whom have been trained in tracking, searching procedures and exhibit handling.
It is stressed that this is only one of many lines of enquiry, being followed by the police.
"We still need more information and appeal to public to report anything 'out of the ordinary' that may relate to Marie" says Le Bas. "Fifteen year old girls do not just disappear. Someone will have information that will enable us to find her".
