Norml Protest in Manukau City
On Wednesday April 2, 'Mary Jane' the NORML CannaBus and her crew will hold their daily 4:20pm public smoke-in protest in Manukau City. This stop on their 42 day, 42 town tour, coincides with two crewmembers appearances in Auckland District Court that day. Both are being charged in relation to 4:20 protests, one in Auckland last August, the other in Palmerston North on March 21, where three locals were also arrested. All five are pleading not guity, claiming that the prohibition laws that require police to arrest people for victimless crimes should be on trial.
note: NORML (National Organisation for the Reform of Marijuana Laws) calls for an immediate stop to all cannabis-related arrests, pending the creation of a rational, evidence-based national drug policy focused on harm minimization, not punishment.
42 day, 42 town tour continues through April: 3 HamilTon, 4 RotoRua, 5 TauPo, 6 TuRangi, 7 WaiOuru, 8 FieldIng, 9 MasterTon, 10 NaeNae (Hutt Valley), 11 WellingtonCity, 12 PicTon, 13 BlenHeim, 14 NelsoN, 15 MotuEka, 16 WestPort, 17 GreyMouth, 18 ArthursPass, 19 ChristChurch, 20 SumnerBeach, 21 AshBurton, 22 TiMaru, 23 OaMaru, 24 BalClutha, 25 DunsterDam (Dunedin)
