Press Release
For Immediate Release.
Tim Grosser - National’s Gambling Man.
National’s Tim Grosser is gambling with New Zealand’s future, says Republicans Leader Kerry Bevin, with an automatic
endorsement of the New Zealand Chinese bi lateral trade agreement.
It is a trade agreement with a country that has increased their military activity in the South Pacific. It is a trade
agreement with a dictatorship. It is a trade agreement with a larger economy. It is a trade agreement with a country
that shows indifference to human rights.
The trade agreement cannot be viewed in isolation; we have other responsibilities to take into consideration, as part of
the pacific community, and in respect of the Asian community that makes up part of our population.
After an automatic endorsement from Mr Grosser, on behalf on the National Party, based on one confidential briefing we
have to ask,
Is National a party that cares about the detail of this document?
Is National a party that takes the bigger picture into consideration?
Is National a party that is avoiding its opposition responsibilities because it has already decided it is walking to an
election victory?
“This is a significant agreement that will impact on New Zealand’s future, for better or worse, and we have National and
Labour behaving like a one party cartel, that has no respect for the peoples view, says Mr Bevin.
