Operation Patch - Xue Captured

Auckland City Police can confirm the United States Marshals internet based reports that Nai Yin Xue, the man wanted for the murder in September 2007 of his wife, Anan Liu, is in custody in America.
Mr Xue was located at about 7am NZ time today in the state of Georgia. Operation Patch - the investigation into Anan Liu's murder - is well placed to progress Mr Xue's deportation or extradiction from the United States.
Detective Senior Sergeant Simon Scott, officer in charge of investigation, says he is delighted by today's development and is looking forward to the next phase of the investigation.
Details around how and when Mr Xue will be returned to NZ to face trail for the allege murder of his wife will be worked on over the coming days and weeks.
Auckland City Police were advised that Mr Xue was arrested after Dekalb County Police were called to a fight.
There are no further details available at this stage, however a media briefing hosted by DSS Scott will be held at Auckland Central Police station at 2pm today.
