Wellington Aggravated Robbery

Aggravated Robbery - Torrens Terrace, Wellington
Police are appealing for witnesses or any persons with information concerning an Aggravated Robbery that occurred between 7pm and 8:30pm on Thursday 7th February 2008 at a commercial premises on Torrens Terrace, Wellington.
A lone male entered the commercial premises and assaulted the lone member of staff. The victim was kicked in the head several times and threatened with a knife.
Detective Sergeant Damian MURPHY of Wellington police said 'The offender ransacked offices and smashed several computer screens before stealing items of electrical property including two laptop computers, a camera and credit cards belonging to the victim. It was a sustained and violent attack'.
'The offender then forced the victim to walk to a nearby ATM machine and to a dairy on Cuba Street so that the offender could steal money using the victim's bank card'.
The victim called out for help at the dairy and police were called. The offender was last seen at about 8:30pm running North on Cuba Street, toward the intersection of Vivian Street.
The image of the offender was captured on CCTV, a copy of which is attached.
The offender: Male Maori or Pacific Islander, Mid 20's, slim build, about 175cm tall, black curly hair (1 inch long), hair on chin, Grey wraparound sunglasses, White top, Black shoes, Blue baseball cap. Carrying black laptop cases with straps over his shoulders and a black camera case.
Police want to hear from anyone who saw the man [in the white top in the picture] below, in the Torrens Terrace/Cuba Street area on Thursday between 7pm and 8:30pm. Police also want to hear from anyone who recognizes this man or who has information that may assist the enquiry.
