NZ Police Alert: Police Pursuit Crash, Waitakere City
Location of incident: Waitakere City.
Incident Type: Police pursuit crash
A male motorcyclist has crashed attempting to avoid a pursuing police unit in Waitakere City this evening at 8.10pm. The motorcyclist had refused to stop for the marked police patrol that had activated warning lights and sirens.
The pursuit, which continued for 2 - 3 minutes at moderate to high speeds, ended when the motorcyclist lost control and crashed at the intersections of Parrs Cross and Henderson Valley Roads.
The motorcyclist suffered serious leg and shoulder injuries and has been taken to Auckland Hospital. A police serious crash unit is investigating the crash and the Police Complaints Authority will be informed.
