Bail Laws Making New Zealand Cesspool Of The Pacific
The Sensible Sentencing Trust is outraged that an offender while waiting sentence for an aggravated robbery breached his Bail conditions and while Police were looking for him it is alleged he raped a 15 year old girl – AND GOT BAIL AGAIN!!!
Trust Spokesman Garth McVicar said that new Bail and Home detention Laws introduced on October 1st were making New Zealand into the Cesspool of the Pacific, creating more crime and more victims.
“These laws are a dismal failure and yet the real criminals introducing these laws sit in their Ivory Towers in Wellington while innocent people are being butchered and raped on the streets.”
“Who in their right mind would introduce legislation that allows someone convicted of an aggravated robbery to be granted Bail while awaiting sentence – then to make matters worse directs the Courts to grant him Bail again after it is alleged he violently raped a 15 year old girl!”
“Aggravated robbery is a serious crime and rape is a serious crime and yet these liberal do-gooders in Wellington put these criminals back on the streets.”
“Parole, Bail or Home Detention should not be available for violent or repeat offenders.”
McVicar said the message must be clear, “We will not tolerate criminals on our streets – no excuses – no ifs – no buts and no maybes!”
