The President of the New Zealand Bar Association, Jim Farmer QC, welcomed today's announcement by the Attorney General that Robert Dobson QC has been appointed as a High Court Judge.
Robert Dobson has been a leading barrister and Queen's Counsel for a considerable time and will undoubtedly contribute to the standing of the High Court, Mr Farmer said. His career has been a distinguished one and he has been lead counsel in many important cases under the Securities Act and Commerce Act in particular. He also served for many years as a member of the Council of the New Zealand Bar Association and was its President from 2002 to 2004.
