State Terrorists Not Welcome in Auckland: Protest the Senior Sailor Symposium
Radical Youth Press Release
This week senior members of Naval forces from around the World are taking part in the Senior Sailor Symposium hosted by the NZ Navy at the Hilton Hotel. Naval Officers from many countries involved in brutal state terrorism against innocent civilians, such as the US, Russia, Indonesia and the Philippines, have been invited to attend.
"The NZ Police and government brandish people involved in peace and Maori land rights activism as 'terrorists', yet allow senior members of Navies who have killed masses of innocent people all around to meet in Auckland" says Cameron Walker.
The US Navy has rained down missiles on civilians in Afghanistan and Iraq. Both the US and Russian Navies have enough nuclear weapons to destroy our World.
"New Zealand is meant to be proudly nuclear free but the NZ Navy is hosting a conference to encourage 'co-operation' with Navies armed to the teeth with nuclear weapons" added Walker.
The invitation extended to the Indonesian Navy to attend the conference signals NZ is strengthening military ties once again with the brutal Indonesian Military, like what happened during the brutal 24 year long occupation of East Timor. An Indonesian Army officer is also currently attending a training course in New Zealand.
"New Zealand shamefully armed and trained the Indonesian Military while it killed a third of East Timor's population. Today the same thing is happening as the Indonesian Military plunders West Papua" added Walker.
Radical Youth is calling out for all those who care about peace and justice to protest against the Senior Sailor Symposium's gala dinner Meet at the bottom of Queen Street 6pm, Thursday 15 November. March to the Hilton Hotel, cnr Hobson and Quay Street.
