Rally and march in support of all those traumatised by police; Saturday 12 noon, Cathedral Square, Christchurch
Press Release: Friday 19th October 2007
FOR IMMEDIATE USE
Members of the Christchurch community have called a public rally and march for this Saturday, 12 noon in Cathedral
Square in Christchurch, to show our support for all those traumatised by police this week.
Due to the harrowing events of October the15th, and as part of a co-ordinated national campaign, there will be a public
rally and then a march to show our support for all those, including the friends, families and the prisoners themselves
and the groups they work with and the communities they live in across the country who have been traumatized by the
draconian and oppressive enactment of so-called "Terrorism Suppression".
We want to express our longing for peace and freedom and to comfort those people who are grieving for their loved ones
with whom they have been denied contact.
More generally we will demand a reigning in of a fattened police force and the cessation of the labeling of those who
cultivate dissent and who work for social change as "terrorists."
Please join us to express your solidarity with those affected, 12 noon in Cathedral Square

Media - please note, there is no spokesperson for those who have come together to organise this rally and march. There
will be numerous speakers and others at the demo available for comment on Saturday.
