Eradicate crime and criminals says hard-line lobby group
While Greg Carvell was appearing before the Auckland District Court for shooting a machete wielding intruder, the
Sensible Sentencing Trust was outside rallying the public to take a hard-line on crime.
The tough-on-crime lobby-group say that crime should be treated like a plague and citizens should be given the legal
right to use whatever force necessary to defend their lives and property without fear of prosecution.
Trust spokesman Garth McVicar said that self-defence was a basic fundamental human right that New Zealanders should
fight hard to have reinstated.
“Crime is a plague and criminals are nothing but carriers spreading the disease, crime should be treated like the plague
it is and eradicated”.
“Violent crime increased by over 10% last year and the government is presently pushing for criminal justice reforms that
will reduce sentences and put more criminals on the streets.
McVicar said the warm-fuzzy soft-on-crime experiment was a dismal failure. “Thirty years of social-vandalism means that
New Zealand now has more criminals and more crime than ever before”.
“Crime and criminals must be treated like SARS or Bird Flu with total eradication of both being the objective”.
