National Welcomes New Deputy Leader.
National Party president Judy Kirk today welcomed Hon Bill English as Deputy Leader of the New Zealand National Party.
“Mr English’s strong party links and connection to the rural heartland ensures that National remains strongly committed to one of our core constituencies.
“Like Mr Key, Bill has always been well regarded by myself and the members of the organisation since becoming a MP in 1990. His organisational understanding and long political career within the National Party is a valuable asset to have on the road to winning the next election.
Mrs Kirk concluded by commenting that:
“The real job ahead for the National Party is to prove to the New Zealand voters that we are capable of delivering a National lead Government. I look forward to working with Mr Key, Mr English and the National team to deliver that National lead government”.
