TVNZ Supportive of Government Move to Unlock Digital Content
TVNZ's CEO, Rick Ellis, today announced his support for the Government's discussion document focussed on making New
Zealand's digital information accessible to all New Zealanders.
The Government's Digital Strategy, which was launched in May last year, is designed to release the country's stock of
digital content and provide New Zealanders with easy access to it.
"Today's announcement by the Minister for Information Technology, the Hon David Cunliffe, and the Minister Responsible
for the National Library, the Hon Judith Tizard, brings TVNZ even closer to its vision of providing all New Zealanders
with a range of content using digital technology", said Mr. Ellis.
"TVNZ's desire to also unlock much of its programming footage from the Television Archive, and making it available using
Information Technology, is now closer to becoming a reality", he added.
