Press Release:
General Secretary of Chinese Science Association Flees China, Renounces Chinese Communist Party
New defectors son currently in New Zealand, will help expose fathers story to Western world
On October 22, Mr Jia JIA, the General Secretary of the Science and Technology Experts’ Association of Shanxi Province in Mainland China, went to Taiwain with a tourist group. Soon after he arrived in Taiwain, he left the group and asked for political protection from the Taiwanese government. However, because there was not enough time for them to deal with his case, on the 26th of October Mr Jia was deported from Taiwan to Hong Kong.
Jia said the main purpose of fleeing from Mainland China is to completely deny the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and appeal to all high level officials of the CCP to quit and abandon the Party, so that Chinese people can have freedom and democracy sooner. He is also seeking international support, so that he won’t be at risk of being brutally persecuted by the CCP by being deported back to Mainland China.
Jia has submitted his declaration of renouncing the CCP to the Global Service Centre to Quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which is run by The Epoch Times newspaper (www.theepochtimes.com). The centre has received almost 15 million declarations since it was established at the end of 2004.
Mr Jia's son, Jia Kuo, is now residing in New Zealand. He will hold a press conference in Aotea Square, central Auckland on Saturday October 28, 2006. He says his father is a witness to the true situation in China, that most of the Chinese people and high ranking officials are very dissatisfied with the CCP and want to abandon it.
Jia Kuo will speak to media about his fathers wish to deny the CCP and urge more high level officials to quit the CCP and fight for democracy to China.
