National Party announces new General Manager
National Party President Judy Kirk has today named Chris Simpson as the Party’s new General Manager.
“I am delighted to announce Mr Simpson’s appointment to replace Greg Sheehan,” says Mrs Kirk.
“I’m looking forward to him joining the team. He brings understanding of both the parliamentary wing and the party organisation.”
Well known in Party circles, Mr Simpson, 37, worked at the Party’s Headquarters in 1991 before joining National’s Research Unit. He was the Unit’s Director from 1995 to 1997.
He then worked for Saunders Unsworth for about two years until 1999, before becoming the National Director of the NZ Property Council. For the past two years he has been a communications consultant.
Mr Simpson will shift from Auckland to Wellington to take up his new role. He starts on 20 November.
