"Now we've convinced the government, maybe there's hope for 'single' Dan"
"The government is to be commended for it's decision to maintain the word 'made' in the government sponsored 'Buy Kiwi
Made' campaign," says Judith Bell, founder of MADENZ and author of the recently published book "I See Red" (published by
Awa Press).
"Not only does this decision honour the intent of the late Green Co-Leader Rod Donald who fought hard for this campaign,
but it also honours those proud kiwi manufacturers who against all odds have remained committed to maintaining their
manufacturing operations in New Zealand. It also encourages true loyalty between New Zealand manufacturers, their local
workers and local consumers who know the positive economic, social and environmental value of buying locally made
products."
"John Walker - the great New Zealand long distance runner - proudly wore a black New Zealand made singlet when he won
the 1976 Montreal Olympics 1500m gold medal. Now we must convince 'single' Dan Carter and his fellow All Blacks, of the
power of a New Zealand made singlet to show as much support and loyalty for New Zealanders, as New Zealanders do for
them."
