New Brighton: Body found on Beach

Location of incident: Waimairi Beach, New Brighton
Incident Type: Body found on Beach
Police are currently at Waimairi Beach on Marine Parade, New Brighton in the vicinity of the Waimairi Surf Club investigating the discovery of body found by a jogger at about 6.15am this morning at the high tide mark.
Police have cordoned off an area of the beach whilst the duty Police Pathologist assists Police with the examination.
The body is believed to be that of an elderly male.
The enquiry is being managed by the CIB at Papanui, but the staff involved are currently at the scene.
