Brash didn't Offer To Resign
National's deputy leader Gerry Brownlee says leader Don Brash did not offer to resign over rumours about his extra
marital affair with Auckland businesswoman, Diane Forman.
Interviewed on TVOne's "Agenda" programme today Mr Brownlee said he wasn't aware of any resignation offer and "I'm sure
if he had and that had been an issue I would know about it."
ACTION OVER LEAK HINTED AT
National may take action over the caucus member who leaked details of the party's discussion about their leader's affair
with an Auckland businesswoman.
Speaking on TVOne's "Agenda" National's deputy leader Gerry Brownlee said the leaks was an internal matter "but you can
be assured that that's under control. "
Pressed further by panellist and Kiwiblog author David Farrar, Mr Brownlee said "you of all people would know how these
things are dealt with and I'm making no further comments on that."
BRASH SAFE FOR THE MEANTIME
National's deputy leader Gerry Brownlee is blaming Labour for the revelations about Dr Brash's private life.
Speaking on TVOne's "Agenda" Mr Brownlee said he thought New Zealanders would recognise that the issues that were there
are for Dr Brash to deal with personally.
"But the issue behind it all, the political issue is the decision by the Labour Party to put themselves above the law,
and I think most people would be pretty furious with that."
Mr Brownlee was referring to Labour's refusal to pay back government funds it allegedly used to finance its election
campaign pledge card.
"We've decided that Dr Brash should be given a break to sort out his situation, and that's where we're quite happy to
leave it."
