The lockout at Progressive Enterprises, in response to the NDU¹s Shelf Respect campaign, is a clear sign that big
business feel threatened by the recent revival of workers' struggle, says David Colyer, spokesperson for Wellington
Workers Charter network.
"The dispute will have implications for the whole union movement, and ultimately all workers", Mr Colyer says, "so all
working people should get behind the locked out workers".
It is there fore timely that Workers Charter has called a public meeting in Wellington on September 26, to support this
union revival. The "Front Foot" meeting will feature speakers from the NDU / Shelf Respect, SFWU / Clean Start and Unite
/ Super Size My Pay campaigns.
Workers are going on the
FRONT FOOT
For decades workers have been pushed on to the back foot. Now union campaigns like SUPER SIZE MY PAY (fast food), CLEAN
START (cleaners) and SHELF RESPECT (supermarkets) are moving back on the FRONT FOOT.
Come along to this public meeting and hear activists from these campaigns speak about what¹s been achieved and what more
needs to be done.
