Air Force Operates at Low Level
Central North Island residents should not be alarmed at the sight of Royal New Zealand Air Force (RNZAF) C-130 Hercules aircraft flying low over the region over the period 07 - 11 Sept 06.
The bi-annual low level tactical flying exercise for RNZAF 40 Squadron crews will operate from the Air Force base at Ohakea.
Formation flying, operations from various landing zones, dropping of light equipment to targeted drop zones and tactical night flying will make up the flying training essential for RNZAF C-130 operations.
Exercise TACEX moves to the Nelson/Marlborough region on Tuesday 12 September.
