North Shore Police say a teenage girl who has been missing from her home in the suburb of Beachhaven, for more than a month, has been found. She is safe and well.
Police located Sharn [pro Shar-n] Joy REID aged 15 years, on Kapiti Coast yesterday.
The girl was last seen by her mother at the family residence on Saturday 22 July 2006.
The last reported sighting of the teenager was in Auckland on Friday 18 August 2006.
"Both her mother and Police are extremely pleased that the girl has been found. She is in good spirits and we are satisfied she is safe," North Shore Police Youth Aid Officer Constable Scott Norris said.
Police enquiries have centred on the lower North Island and Wellington region. While we had no immediate concerns for her safety, she is only 15 years of age. We certainly wanted to be assured about her well being and where she is living," he said.
"Both the general public and the media have given us valuable assistance during our search for this missing teenager. We are very appreciative," Constable Norris said.
