Interim Injunction on Progressive Hearing
The Employment court will be hearing an application for an interim injunction to prevent the use of replacement labour
for locked out workers at 11am today, says the National Distribution Union.
The union yesterday named Linfox as a distribution centre doing the work of the locked out workers.
National Secretary Laila Harre said that the locked out workers will continue pickets at supermarkets today to raise
their issues with supermarket customers and supermarket workers and to ensure Progressive isn't using illegal
replacement workers.
"Progressive may have locked out our distribution workers, but supermarket customers are opening their arms to their
plight" she said. "On behalf of the workers and their families, we are grateful to customers and supporters for their
kind words, financial support and food donations which are alleviating the hardship caused by Progressive's lock out."
Workers will be meeting with Work and Income over the next few days to discuss the emergency benefit which is available
to locked out workers.
