Union Campaign Against National's No Rights Bill Working
CTU Secretary Carol Beaumont told a rally in Auckland today that the union campaign against National's attacks on
workers' rights was working, but needed to continue.
"We are very encouraged that the Maori Party has decided not to support the Bill any further, and we warmly welcome the
position they have reached" she said.
"The debate on the 90 days Bill has provoked a significant response from workers throughout the country, and the
campaign in the community and on worksites will continue."
"Other political parties have also raised doubts about the Bill, and we will continue working with New Zealand First and
United Future to demonstrate to them this high level of opposition from workers to National's plan."
"This Bill is fundamental attack on workers' rights and is merely a taste of what is to come if National led the
government. Unions will continue to defend the rights of ordinary working New Zealanders against National's anti worker
agenda."
