Army Unimog Accident – Further Update
The soldier injured in Wednesday’s Unimog accident was moved from Wellington Hospital yesterday and is now recovering in Burwood hospital with family. The soldier remains in a stable condition.
Private Meredith Simms who died in the accident, will be given a full military funeral in Wellington on Monday 21 August. The funeral will be held at Saint Patrick’s College Chapel in Silverstream and will commence at 2.00pm. The family of Private Simms has stated that they will be unavailable to media at the funeral and have requested media respect their privacy.
A memorial service will be held in Burnham Military Camp for Private Simms and details of this service will be issued once they have been finalised.
