"Sale" of Napier hospital site contested

"Sale" of Napier hospital site won't stop Court Action
The District Health Board's intention to continue with the sale of the Napier Public Hospital site, even though the legality of such a sale is the subject of a High Court case is no surprise.
Good faith and respect for legalities or people have never featured on this journey.
Although the DHB is not a defendant it has worked paw in claw for stealthy years with the Government to cash-up the trust-protected asset that the hospital site is. The DHB is a Black Hole for money.
Neither the Government nor the DHB have shown the slightest concern for the consultative procedures they were lawfully bound by and both have treated the community with arrogance, and disrespect for law and truth.
In spite of their dedicated and hard-working health professionals, the government and bureaucrats in the DHB are completely unable to serve up a public health system that works properly, judging by the waiting lists and the anecdotal horror stories that nearly everyone has heard one of.
High levels of public satisfaction with public health twenty years ago have gone.
The 'buyer' may just become the last victim of a long illegal exercise. They will have a property that they are legally obliged to retain in trust ' for a hospital and grounds
It is a reasonable bet that the DHB Chairman wouldn't buy a property so encumbered!
