27th July 2006 MEDIA RELEASE
Nomorerates Not Associated With Act Party Fundraising
The ACT Party has today launched a website soliciting funds to pay for some sort of letter writing campaign seeking suppport for Rodney Hide’s Rating Cap Bill.
NoMoreRates.com has NO ASSOCIATION with either the ACT Party – or any political party – and will not benefit financially in any way from the ACT Party’s fundraising.
NoMoreRates.com has not sought any funding from anyone at this stage – but has been offered financial donations by a numbers of supporters.
NoMoreRates.com has also made it clear that it’s primary aim at this stage is to pursuade NZ First and Green MPs to vote for a first reading of the Rating Cap Bill – we do not endorse the Bill as it stands but we do want the opprtunity to have input to a Select Committee on the whole issue of rates and local body funding, and this Bill is the way to get that done.
