Family Life Outraged At Government Spending

NZ Government spending on international abortion is disgraceful
Family Life International is outraged to learn today that the New Zealand Government gave over $7.3 million dollars of taxpayer’s money to international abortion agencies in 2005.
In an address given to the 4th Asian Women Parliamentarians and Ministers Conference in Wellington yesterday; the Prime Minister announced that in 2005 New Zealand had given over $7.3 million to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF).
Both of these organisations exist to promote and provide abortions and contraception all over the world, particularly in third world countries, and both have been implicated as being complicit in China’s forced abortion policy.
“Last week we learnt about an elderly Northland cancer suffer who lost her nose to her illness and was denied an operation to replace it because of her age. Then this week we learn that over $7.3 million dollars of taxpayer money was given to organisations dedicated to promoting and carrying out abortion. This is an outrageous and disgraceful state of affairs” says Family Life International media spokesperson; Brendan Malone.
“While the New Zealand Government spends millions of dollars of tax payer money to fund international abortions, spending on essential services such as surgery, policing, education, and roading is left sorely wanting.”
“It is a sad day for New Zealand when one of our own elderly citizens can’t even get basic medical care, yet international abortion agencies with dubious records of human rights abuses can get millions” says Mr Malone.
