Stewart Island Sinking - 3 rescued 6 outstanding

NZ Police CommCens Alert 18:20 13-05-2006 Southern
Location of incident: Stewart Island
Incident Type: Boat has sunk 15 km off the coast of Stewart Island. 3 rescued 6 outstanding
Water Rescue: Boat sunk approximately 15 km off the East Coast of Stewart Island. Nine persons on borard three have been rescued 6 persons still unacounted for.
Police and emergency services currently seraching using seven vessels and two helicopters. Marine Sar and Police coordinating serach.
All able to give at present will provide an update through Invercargill police at approximately 11.pm.
