Yellow Mercedes Driving on Four Rims
The driver of a Yellow Mercedes was seen driving north on the motorway, first reported in the vicinity of Tip Top
Corner.
The unusual thing about this vehicle, which was not speeding was that it had four flat tyres and in a short distance had
burnt them off to continue driving on four rims. Several callers now had reported this vehicle to the police, the yellow
mercedes was keeping below the speed limit and the driver was apparently laughing their head off. Sparks continued to
fly as police patrols closed in on the driver.
The vehicle was finally caught up with and stopped by police in Mt Wellington. The apprehending police officer passed
the comment, "This is the strangest thing I have ever seen". The driver rolled from the vehicle completely oblivious to
the fact that the rims had been ground flat. The driver is now in the safe hands of the police.
