Police have mounted a investigation into a missing Franz Josef man, Dylan Earle BLISS, aged 33 years.
Mr BLISS was last seen leaving a staff BBQ on Saturday night, 25 March and has not been seen since. Police were advised
of his disappearance when he failed to show for work on Monday afternoon.
BLISS is described as slightly overweight Caucasian, approximately 180cm tall with short, black, curly hair and a
trimmed, black beard. His associates describe him as a likeable, happy guy.
His employers state BLISS was a reliable worker and his disappearance is out of character. They, along with his
flatmates, have concerns for his safety.
The initial police investigation established that it is unlikely BLISS has left the area. BLISS has not taken his
vehicle and there has been no usage of his bank accounts indicating he has not left the area though there is no
indication of what his intentions were.
A subsequent Search and Rescue Operation has been commenced in the Franz Josef area. This involves 40 volunteers, 3
search dogs and a white water rescue team. This search has concentrated on the immediate township and surrounding area,
including tracks, bush and waterways.
The search is now continuing into day three, involving up to 60 volunteers, search and rescue dogs and an air search.
The area covered by searchers has extended to approximately 35 square kilometres.
