New Zealand Herald article incorrect – Chen Palmer
Incorrect statements in today’s New Zealand Herald relating to public law firm Chen Palmer’s representation of the Waipareira Trust need to be corrected, Mai Chen said today.
The article – Waipareira Trust faces big legal bills – contains a number of factual inaccuracies. The High Court did not recommend that the Waipareira Trust review Chen Palmer’s fee; the fee for the litigation was not $140,000 but $86,521.10 plus GST and disbursements and; the defendants for whom Chen Palmer acted have never expressed any concerns about the bill which was submitted to them in draft and approved.
“I am taking the issue up directly with the Herald and seeking a correction. The Herald never gave us the opportunity to comment or set the record straight prior to publication,” Mai Chen said.
