Navy swap top jobs
The Royal New Zealand Navy will mark the transfer of Command in several top roles within the organisation at a
ceremonial parade on Friday 27 January. The parade will commence at 10:00am at Ngataringa Sports Fields, Devonport.
The Maritime Component Commander, Commodore J.R. Steer, ONZM, RNZN and Deputy Chief of Navy, Commodore D.V. Anson ADC,
RNZN, will exchange roles in a Change of Command Ceremony.
Warrant Officer Weapons Technician P.A. Rennie, MNZM, will pass responsibility for the most senior position for sailors,
Warrant Officer of the Navy, to Warrant Officer Stores Assistant N. Roberts.
Maori Cultural Advisor, Chief Petty Officer Combat Systems Specialist M. Pirikahu will be introduced to the Navy and
presented with a taonga to recognise his position.
Three trophies will be presented to ship and shore units to recognise efficiency and performance excellence during 2005.
The Chief of Defence Force, Air Marshal B.R. Ferguson, OBE, AFC will be the Reviewing Officer for the parade, which
comprises of an Armed Guard, the Navy Band and up to 600 personnel in 30 platoons from all ships and shore
establishments.
