NZ Police: Tauranga Abduction

Incident Type: Tauranga Girl
Tauranga Police are investigating an alledged abduction of a five year old girl from the Tauranga suburb of Mangatapu today.
The girl was walking to school at around 9.00am with her seven year old brother when she was approached by a man and taken from the scene.
Tauranga Police have now located the girl with a member of the public in a rural isolated Bay of Plenty location.
The child is safe and Police have commenced an investigation into the incident.
The full circumstances are not yet known and it is anticipated that a further and full media release will be made this afternoon, when more details are known.
No further comment will be made by Police until later today.
