'Breaking the Habit'

A team of top line New Zealand break-dancers are the star attractions at a major youth event this Friday night in Mt
Wellington, Auckland. The event aims to raise awareness over the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse amongst teenagers.
The event titled "Breaking the Habit' is expected to draw over a thousand young people where the strong
anti-drug/alcohol message will be presented through high-impact live presentations.
Caine Warren who heads up the project, says the event has been months in the planning and will be set in a colosseum
style arena where New Zealand's top break dancers will compete alongside live rap and audio visual presentations.
"We are well aware of the drug problem wreaking havoc amongst the youth of our communities and the escalating violence
in South Auckland. This is one proactive way to positively warn and encourage the youth of our community away from the
enticements of drugs and alcohol," says Mr Warren.
Last year over 1,500 youth attended a similar event run by the Trust in partnership with the NZ Police targeting drink
driving amongst teens.
'Breaking the Habit' starts at 7.30pm this Friday (28th October) at the Destiny Church Auditorium, situated at 18
Allright Place Mt Wellington, Auckland.
