Student Pilots Navigate the South Island
The Air Force’s student pilots will be flying the length of the South Island this week during a Navigation Training
Exercise.
The group is scheduled to make overnight stops at Greymouth, Queenstown, Dunedin and Christchurch.
The Seven students and their instructors, from the Pilot Training Squadron (PTS) at RNZAF Base Ohakea will be flying CT4
Airtrainers.
The Students are carrying out their initial pilot training, a course that runs for 34 weeks.
Weather permitting the aircraft are likely to make the following stops:
Mon 17 Ohakea - Greymouth via Woodbourne
Tue 18 Greymouth - MacKenzie Country - Queenstown
Wed 19 Queenstown - Dunedin
Thu 20 Dunedin - Timaru - Christchurch
Fri 21 Christchurch - Ohakea
