Treasury releases its July monthly economic indicators
The July 2005 Monthly Economic Indicators (MEI) are available on the Treasury Website . The report provides a summary of recent economic events with a focus on economic activity .
The month of July was relatively light in terms of information releases although the data that was released has helped fit together a picture of how the New Zealand economy is currently performing. It is apparent that the domestic economy is continuing to perform strongly while the lagged effect of the high New Zealand dollar is leading to weaker export demand.
