Maori Television-Tns Poll – Te Tai Hauauru Results
The Maori Television-TNS Poll of the Te Tai Hauauru electorate shows that Tariana Turia of the Māori Party has strong support with three quarters (74%) of the electorate vote.
Labour Party candidate Errol Mason is behind with 14% of the vote. Six percent of Māori voters in this electorate are undecided.
Preferred Candidates – Te Tai Hauauru:
Errol Mason (Labour) 14% Tariana Turia (Maori Party) 74% Neither 6% Don’t Know 6%
However, the Maori Television-TNS Poll of the Tai Hauauru electorate has the Labour party and the Maori party tied as most preferred party:
Labour 39% Maori Party 39% NZ First 9% National 6% Green Party 4% Destiny NZ 1% Other 0%
The Maori Television-TNS telephone survey was conducted between 4 June and 10 July 2005 by TNS Research Ltd. It is reflective of the views of Māori in the electorate during this particular period in time.
Maori Television is this week releasing the full results of the survey on its Te Kaea news programme throughout this week (beginning Monday 1 August 2005). It will also highlight research results detailing the key election issues for Maori.
