Irwin dispute goes to mediation
A dispute at Irwin Industrial Tools in Wellsford will go into mediation on Monday.
Workers at the plant struck for 24 hours on Tuesday in protest over the failure to settle their collective agreement. They are seeking a five per cent pay increase, but the package the company has offered is effectively a 2.5 per cent rise.
Engineering, Printing and Manufacturing Union national secretary Andrew Little said that the workers were keen to get the dispute settled.
