New book dedicated to Owen Wilkes
A revised edition of Eyes of Fire: The Last Voyage of the Rainbow Warrior marking the 20th anniversary of the sabotage of the Greenpeace flagship by French secret agents has been published with a timely dedication to the memory of New Zealand peace campaigner and researcher Owen Wilkes.
The "memorial edition", written and published by David Robie, has a new preface by Greenpeace campaigner Bunny McDiarmid and has new sections about Pacific militarisation and the harmful legacy of American and French nuclear testing in the Marshall Islands and in Polynesia.
Eyes of Fire is also dedicated to Fijian peace campaigner Amelia Rokotuivuna, Tahiti-based activists and historians Bengt and Marie-Therese Danielsson, New Zealand's Elaine Shaw and Dutch photographer Fernando Pereira, who was killed by the French state terrorists on board the Rainbow Warrior.
