Progressive campaign launch Sunday Aug. 14 in Auckland
The Progressive party will launch its election campaign in Auckland on Sunday August 14, party president Grant Gillon said today.
Following the Prime Minister's announcement earlier today that the General Election will be held on September 17, Mr Gillon said party leader Jim Anderton, deputy leader Matt Robson, and Northland and Auckland regional candidates for the party will spend the morning on the streets campaigning for Party Votes in the Tamaki electorate, where Deputy Leader Matt Robson is standing, followed by the campaign kick-off and lunch at the Lava Restaurant on the waterfront in St Heliers.
In the election, Jim Anderton is seeking to increase his majority in the Christchurch electorate of Wigram which he has held since its inception. Progressive has selected candidates to contest a majority of electorates around the country where they are campaigning for party votes.
